However, his love for Sports soon took over, and in 1981, Mike and his family moved to Manti, Utah, where he worked on KMTI Radio as News and Sports Director, quickly becoming the voice of the Snow Junior College Badgers for three seasons.

In 1984 Mike again made a move south, where he became News Director at KDXU in St. George, Utah. Mike kept his hand in sportcasting by calling high school football and basketball games, and filled in as the back up voice for The Dixie College Rebels.

Mike has remained in St. George, and just finished his 23rd year on local radio, and his 16th year as the official "Voice" of the Dixie State College Rebels.

Mike is married to Julie, and they have four children and two grand-children.
